Confirmation

Confirmation classes commence on Saturday 22 August 2009 at 5pm. Please pray for our candidates and their families during this special time. Confirmation will be celebrated on Sunday, September 27 at 2pm.

Building Works

Update on Sacristy Renovation: The demolition work has been completed and the brickwork will have been finished by this weekend. The next step will be to complete the roof in both the sacristy and the organ gallery and this should be completed by 21 August. Once the roof is complete, the interior joinery and other work can start. The project is on track and we hope to have it completed by 27 September, the day Confirmation is being celebrated in the parish.

St Vincent de Paul Society

Be part of the St Vincent de Paul Society's Good Works. Is there a desire in you to do something more? Would you like to reach out to those in need? Our local St Vincent de Paul Society conference is seeking new members to join them in their work of serving the disadvantaged and vulnerable members of our community. Please join us for our Information evening: 7 30pm 16 March at St Joseph’s Church Oatley. Men and women of all ages are welcome to join us. Catechists Required

3 new catechists needed to take scripture classes each week in the 3 local State Primary schools. No prior teaching experience is necessary as full support and teaching resources are provided by the CCD.

Parish Pastoral Council

Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish held a meeting on Tuesday, 2 December 2008 for the public presentation of the proposed Model for an Oatley Parish Pastoral Council. As a result of that, parishioners are now invited to nominate individuals for any of the eight (8) vacant positions on the Council. All nominations will be carefully considered. It is assumed that nominees understand the role that they are accepting, and that parishioners know the nominees. Self-nominations will not be permitted.

At the PPC meeting on Tuesday, reference was made to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan. We are going to try and model our PPC on the structures and purposes suggested by this plan. Click this link to access this information: Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan
